ARRIVAL IN ALAJUELA

The universitario served us our noon meals. The food, in general was very good.
Entrance to the universitario

The small church we were assigned to

The keyboard was used frequently for services; sometimes a guitar

The front of the church and pulpit

The children, especially, loved to sing

I had asked this little one in English, "How are you today?" and she said "Huh?"

These are her parents giving special music

Some of the congregation

Elder Folkenberg - Director of ShareHim
leading out in morning worship for staff

A field trip to the mountains

A volcano (?) shrouded in clouds

White flesh squash shaped like a pear. If you click on the picture you can see it much better.

This looked familiar. Fun to see a daily food growing on a tree

Happy Travelers. . .

. .until we met another bus the same size on a curvy mountain road. This is the driver of the other bus. The rearview mirror was inches from ours. Our driver very cautiously backed up for quite a distance and let this fellow go by. He was on the drop-off side and was touch-and-go for a bit. We applauded loudly for our driver's expertise!

This is the Catholic church which replaced one built in 1681 destroyed by an earthquake
